The much rumored release of OS X 10.1.2 is still pending. A number of sites are touting the features of the new release, but I still think it is best to wait and see what the update includes rather than speculating...

I have been using the OS X version of CopyPaste now for more than 24 hours and after some brief oddness when I first installed it, it has been as reliable and as valuable a tool under OS X as it was when I used it under OS 9.x. Yes, it costs $20 for this new version of CopyPaste-X 1.0, but in my book, it is one of the must-have utilities for OS X. It adds more clipboards as well as clipboard editing tools and some other text-tweaking capabilities that make it invaluable if you use your Mac for serious work.

News:

-- If, like me, you have been waiting for the OS X version of Palm Desktop before buying into another PIM and syncronization tool for user under OS X, you may want to check out the discussion on Macslash. There is widespread speculation that what Palm plans to call Palm Desktop under OS X will be little more than drivers for doing hotsynching with a Palm computer rather than a full application like the Classic version of Palm Desktop...[posted at 10:05 a.m. PDT]

-- Script Software has finished porting its popular CopyPaste utility to OS X with CopyPaste-X 1.0. The $20 shareware utility offers up to 10 clipboards whose contents can be saved between restarts as well as a clipboard recorder that remembers the last 100 clipped items and a clipboard editor.

I haven't used this program under OS X just yet. I am downloading it now...but it was one of my favorite utilities under OS 9.x and earlier, and it is something I have been anticipating being able to use once again under OS X...[posted at 9:17 a.m. PDT]

-- As you likely know, Apple didn't release OS X 10.1.2 late Friday or over the weekend, but there is still a lot of speculation that the release should be available very soon...[posted at 9:11 a.m. PDT]
