Mac OS X conference news abounds

  • Toast Titanium Updater X 5.2 - Update your version of Toast with this 21MB download.
  • Summary 2.3 - A shareware Web site log analysis tool.
  • Spamfire 1.2.1 - A spam fighting email filter application.
  • OpenBase SQL 7.0.8 - Demo of the powerful SQL database engine.
  • WeatherPop 1.6 - Freeware that offers current weather information in your menu bar.
  • WeatherPop Advance 1.6 - An $8 shareware fee adds weather forecasts to the current temperature and weather conditions offered in its freeware version.
  • ImageBuddy 2.5 - A number of bug fixes and enhancements in the update to this shareware digital image layout program.
  • CrushFTP X 3.0b26 - An update to the $25 shareware FTP server application offers a number of user interface tweaks as well as bug fixes.
  • AOL Instant Messenger X 4.5.863 - This update to the main AIM client offers long filename support, a security fix for AIM folder locations, and a number of bug fixes.

Fire update adds AIM compatibility again
Many users of the popular chat application Fire noted over the last two days that the program wasn't working with the AOL Instant Messenger protocol any more. Fire 0.31.d fixes this problem and a host of other issues. 12:30:29 PM comment

Combining TinderBox and NetNewsWire
Tinderbox and NetNewsWire. Mark Bernstein: “Tinderbox’s default behavior is pretty good, but NetNewsWire has just added some new XML drag flavors that let Tinderbox understand whether you’re dragging a news feed (which you’d probably want to have updated automatically) or a news story (where you probably want to keep the summary in Tinderbox, and to provide easy access to the full story).”

Apple's Ken Bereskin on Jaguar's Keychains. - "Here's a feature that many people have overlooked. The user interface for Keychain Access enjoys several improvements and one that I rely on all the time for my PowerBook is the ability to lock your keychain and most importantly, your screen, directly from the menu bar." ... more info - Ken forgot to mention that keychains are scriptable.
