The verdict on my Pismo
After working with my PowerBook throughout the afternoon and evening, I am still seeing flickering in my LCD display. So what, right? I have AppleCare after all. But the problem is dealing with the likely week-long absence of my machine. I will use my wife's Pismo as a backup and try to access and work with my data on the FireWire drive I use as a backup, but due to the intricacies of working with Radio Userland and some other software, there will be major inconveniences including the possibility of not being able to update Mac Net Journal while my machine is gone...

Have you downloaded iSync?
If you are living on the bleeding edge and you have already downloaded and installed iSync, what do you think? Is this a new killer feature? Or is it too limited and frustrating to use yet in its beta form?

ICeCoffEE brings ICeTEe to OS X
ICeCoffEE 1.1. Nicholas Riley: “ICeCoffEE lets you Command-click on URLs in Cocoa applications to launch them. It is modeled after ICeTEe, for classic Mac OS, which provided the same functionality in many Macintosh applications by patching TextEdit.” [ranchero.com]

Still troubleshooting LCD problems
I may have found the cause of the problems with the flickering LCD on my Pismo PowerBook. On a whim, I decided I should try taking one of the two 512MB RAM chips from my machine and swapping it with a 128MB RAM chip from my wife's Pismo. I took out the top RAM card and put it in her machine and when I tried to restart her machine the video wouldn't display at all. I put her 128MB card back in and started my machine up with just the 512MB card in the lower RAM slot and so far I am not seeing any flickering LCD problems...
Maybe I have some bad RAM that I need to see about getting replaced. It couldn't be that simple, could it?

iSync examined
Mike Cohen on iSync: "Synchronizing computers with iSync. After installing iSync on my iBook, I was able to sync it with my G4, which I had previously tested iSync on. While the sync went very smoothly, it's less useful than it could have been, since it's tied to .Mac. [MacMegasite]
An anonymous user posted the following comment:
DUH! How often are you gonna be carrying both computers around with you! Syncing via .Mac is the only way that makes sense...you can sync any macs together(home and work) all you need is an internet connection- if you don't have an internet connection, you shouldn't be passing comment.
At no point did Apple say that it would offer File synchronizing- so why are you pissed off that it doesn't do that?
Try SynchronizeX butthead.
I do use Syncrhonize X. I was just pointing out that iSync doesn't do file synchronization. Also, when the two machines are on the same network, it should be possible to sync them directly instead of having to go through .Mac." [Mike Cohen: MacOS X]
