Another word of thanks
Thanks today for the donations from John Busteed and Andrew Smith. The positive feedback is a great boost for Mac Net Journal - and it will make it a lot easier to keep up with the throughput charges for the site!

So, are Script and script the same? Or was the Apple tech note wrong?
Reader Disputes AppleCare Technote about Script Editor. The tech note stated that there was no difference in the two types of compiled script options. From Mike Harris: "From what I understand, 'Compiled Script' (initial capitals) is the script stored in the data fork. "compiled script" is the script stored as a resource in the resource fork. Mail.app isn't the only program losing email
In reading mail today on the X4U mailing list I see that least one user of Eudora 5.1.1 under Jaguar has also seen that program lose email, and it is good to remember that even the ages-old email application Eudora is a very young application under Mac OS X.

MNJ moves to ninth on the all-time Radio blog list

Wow...a great radio documentary on the Web soon
I spent the last hour listening to a great radio documentary from KUOW FM here in the Seattle area. "Orca Odyssey" looks at the state of the quintessential Pacific Northwest whale today and human interactions with the whales from their days of capture in the 60s and 70s to the efforts to help the whale Springer this spring. The story should be available for online listening soon here: KUOW.org.
