Yes! Qwest is being investigated
Qwest Discloses U.S. Attorney Is Investigating the Company. Qwest Communications International, the nation's fourth-largest local telephone company, said today that it was the subject of a criminal investigation by the Justice Department. By Kenneth N. Gilpin. [New York Times: Technology]
Once again, I say it couldn't be happening to a more deserving company. Here in the Pacific Northwest, Qwest has never had a clue about serving its customers, and it hasn't had to since it is the only land-line option. I used to have DSL through Qwest, but their support was so horrible, especially after my DSL router was affected by the viruses last summer that I divested in all the Qwest gear that I could. Just yesterday I had four phone calls from Qwest trying to sell me an upgraded phone package, including a feature that would block telemarketing calls. I don't think the telemarketer understood at first when I asked without delay whether the feature would block him...
Qwest can go the way of the dinosaurs and I would be a happy camper.

A spell checker for IE, but not if you use OS X
Dave Winer's note about ieSpell being a "free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell checks text input boxes on a webpage" intrigued me enough to check the Web site for the program. Alas, it is a Windows-only add-on for IE...
