How does OS X stack up as a developing environment?
Developing on MacOS X. - ProjectOmega analyzes Mac OS X as an integrated development environment. [Download printable PDF - 724K] [AppleScript Info]
If the numbers of new applications arriving daily for OS X is any indication, it is a great development environment. If you haven't checked either of the software tracking sites like MacUpdate or VersionTracker lately, just take a look at the number of new programs each day being added for OS X as compared to the numbers for OS 9.x. OS X is definitely where it's at...

Do you use a news aggregator?
If you use Radio or another news aggregator service to keep up on the news, how many sources are you reading? Jenny Levine, aka The Shifted Librarian has a poll on the topic running tonight: How many sites do you track daily?.
In my case, the number of sites is fairly small. I subscribe to 48 RSS news feeds in Radio 8.0.8 right now, and I may expand that soon to encompass some new sources. I have kept the number of sources low for a reason, as I try to focus on quality over quantity. It seems to me that one of the biggest benefits of reading Weblogs through a news aggregator or otherwise is letting those Weblog authors be the experts in their fields and then finding just the right mix of experts to do that research for me. There is no reason to duplicate their efforts. That is what I try to do with Mac Net Journal as well - to filter out the useful information from the roaring mass of Mac news and opinion that is out there. If I can provide a few of my own nuggets of information along the way, all the better!

News aggregators change the way we read the news
Jon Udell: "[Radio's] built-in RSS aggregator has changed how I process information in a dramatic way." [Scripting News]
Jon's article is interesting, since I find myself getting much of my news through sources that I can subscribe to and read with Radio's RSS news aggregator. In fact, I have to remember to go look at how the information is presented on many Web sites because otherwise I would just get the teasers and move on.

Are you watching the standoff between Pakistan and India
Henry Porter: "For the first time since the Cuban missile crisis, nuclear war is not a distant threat but a real possibility and the lives of 12 million people are at risk." [Scripting News]
I have been amazed that so little is being said in the U.S. about the prospects of nuclear war in the coming days...

At long last, Eudora 5.1.1 for OS X
The year-plus without a "final" version of Eudora for OS X ends today with the release of Eudora 5.1.1. There are not many new features in this version, other than the ability to attach photos to contacts in the Eudora address book. The upgrade to Eudora 5.1.1 will cost you though - $29.95 to upgrade if you previously used the unsponsored version, and of course this is a free upgrade for the advertising supported version. The upgrade is also free is you have paid for a new Eudora license this year.
MacCentral has a story about the long road to a final version of Eudora for OS X in Eudora 5.1.1 released, for OS X
