SBook5 looks intriguing: A freeware Cocoa address book
I saw mention this weekend of a freeware address book application that looks interesting: SBook5. Currently in an alpha version, it probably isn't ready for prime time, but it may be worth watching...

500 miles and a funeral
I don't usually write about my personal life on Mac Net Journal. Who wants to read about a struggling writer and small business owner and the details of a life lived online and offline, to the fullest? But there are some things that happen in life that deserve mention...like the death of my 81-year-old grandmother Fay Huff and the marking of her passage into the great beyond yesterday. Death brings families together just as it can tear them apart, and in the case of my immediate family, this was the first time in five years that my two younger brothers and I got together with my parents in one place. In the celebration of a life lost, there were new connections...renewed connections. That was yesterday - a whirlwind trip to a memorial service and back: more than 200 miles of this state covered. And just as yesterday was emotional, today was exhilarating. Natalie and I had M along as we did more research for our upcoming bird watching book, Birding Washington - this time venturing to Grays Harbor to watch shorebirds. We stood transfixed, watching through binoculars in the morning mist as hundreds of Dunlin and other shorebirds rose in the air as a Bald Eagle dove into the undulating mass in search of a meal. From our vantage point, the eagle missed. The beat of life goes on! This weekend, life has been a ride - 500 miles and a funeral...

I am back online and looking around on Radio and elsewhere, playing catchup after an emotional whirlwind weekend. A funeral and family get together yesterday, and nearly 300 miles of driving and some great bird watching for our book today...
Onward!
