From the "It's a feature" Department: Windows IE users beware
Another Big MS Browser Hole Found. Don't click that back button if you're using Internet Explorer on a PC running Windows: You're opening yourself up to a potential malicious hack. By Michelle Delio. [Wired News]

And a damning section from the story:

The exploit was discovered by Andreas Sandblad, a Swedish engineering student. Sandblad said he notified Microsoft of the problem last November. He provided additional information to Microsoft on March 25.

"Originally, I was only able to produce the same result when the user pressed the refresh button," Sandblad said in an e-mail. "I contacted Microsoft about it in November and they confirmed the problem. On Feb. 28, I received mail from them saying that they didn't think the problem was serious enough to fix."

Yet another sign that Microsoft doesn't really understand the Internet, the importance of security, or customer support. But you can go ahead and keep sending those thousands of dollars for more of their buggy software, thank you very much... 1:05:30 PM comment

I am still digging the wireless setup I created in my home office with a pair of AirPort cards in both of the PowerBooks my wife and I use combined with an SMC Barricade wireless access point... 9:49:41 AM comment
