Stop the presses! According to a review on MacCentral (Adobe unveils Photoshop 7.0 for Mac OS X) and another article on CNET (Picture this: Photoshop on OS X) tonight, Adobe will unveil Photoshop 7.0 for OS X on Monday. But before you rush to buy the upgrade, the catch is that Adobe doesn't expect to actually ship the software until April. Regardless, the pending release of Photoshop is a big step toward bringing OS X to the level of a major OS for the creative professionals and graphics folks who make up a major share of Mac users. It appears the suggested retail price for Photoshop 7.0 will be $600, and an upgrade to the new version from Photoshop Elements or Photoshop LE will cost $499.
Time to start saving those pennies...
