Broken icons after updating OS X: There are two steps to fix broken icons for Classic applications in your Dock. First, go to System Preferences and select the Classic panel, then click the Advanced tab and choose to rebuild the desktop for Classic. Classic doesn't have to be running while you do this. Then, to get the icons showing correctly in your Dock after you rebuild the Desktop, simply quit the Dock. When the Dock automatically restarts then your icons should be restored!
