I am having a minor disagreement with Radio 8.0.2 again, this time over using the Categories features in the Weblog and content management software. I create a category, tell Radio I want it to render in HTML, but when I go back to my home page, it doesn't show up correctly. And, if I try to post to the new category, the post itself gets rendered in HTML on the remote server, but there is no "index.html" file created for the new category, so each individual post can only be reached through its own unique URL...Digging...

Has anyone else seen this? Especially anyone using Radio on OS X? 9:56:58 PM comment

Xspot looks like an interesting Mac Weblog. Cool! Something new to read. 9:29:19 PM comment

Robert Barksdale does a great job explaining why he uses Mozilla as his OS X browser of choice.

He makes great arguments! Persuasive. And I sure agree with is support for open standards and the completeness of the Mozilla feature set. I just wish its Java implementation was stronger so that I could work my paying job on the Net using Mozilla.

I think my quickly written piece about the state of OS X Web browsers may have misrepresented my feelings about the browser choices under OS X. I am happy to see so many choices on such a new OS! I am just eager to see more of those choices work with the particular Java and Javascript-based work I need to do on the Net. I think some read my article and came away thinking that I prefer to work with Internet Explorer, but the truth is, if I didn't need to use Java to make a living, I would shun IE. It is the least creative of any of the OS X browsers, or at least one of the least creative. And while I can appreciate its Java capabilities now, I know that the others will catch up. 9:17:21 PM comment

I'm back home from driving to the Pacific Ocean and back, scoping out four bird watching sites for the new book, and having a tasty meal at an Irish pub along the ocean. What a way to spend a Saturday! 9:03:55 PM comment

Updates to the site will be on hold for a while today. It is time I put on my other writing hat and head out for a full day of book research and photography for the latest book Natalie and I are working on, Birding Washington.

The sun is coming out, there is gas in the car...it must be time to look for shorebirds! 7:23:20 AM comment
